o Start / Stop / Res(ume) Button – Clicking Start begins the current recording session.
Clicking Stop during the current recording session pauses the session. Clicking
Res(ume) restarts the current session.
• Mode Section – Displays all radio status and mode indicators normally found on the radio LCD
display, plus some additional control and status information.
o Conv – Conventional bank scanning mode.
o Trunk – Trunked bank scanning mode.
o Scan – Scan mode.
o Hold – Hold mode.
o Search – Search mode.
o Prog – Program mode.
o Priority – Priority mode.
o Squelch – Squelch mode Control. When scanning conventional channels this mode box
displays / controls the squelch mode. The default is Carrier Squelch. Clicking on this
box once changes the squelch mode to Tone Squelch. Clicking again changes it to Tone
Search. Clicking a third time changes it back to Carrier Squelch. Trunk Sq is displayed
when scanning trunked channels.
o I-CALL – I-CALL mode Control. When scanning trunked channels this mode box
displays / controls the I-CALL mode. The default is I-CALL OFF. Clicking on this box
once changes the I-CALL mode to I-CALL ON. Clicking again changes it to I-CALL
ONLY. Clicking a third time changes it back to I-CALL OFF.
o MOT – Motorola trunking mode.
o ED – Edaccs trunking mode.
o WX – Weather service mode Control. This mode box displays / controls the Weather
Svc immediate mode. Clicking on it once immediately puts the radio in Weather Service
Scan mode. Clicking it again returns the radio to its’ previous state.
o SVC – Service scan mode.
o LTR – LTR trunking mode.
o ACT (BC250D, BC296D, BC785D, BC796D) – Activity Indicator mode for Trunked
Bank. Click to turn ON the Activity Indicator for the current Trunked Bank. Click again
to turn OFF the Activity Indicator for the current Trunked Bank.
o Set Lite Section (BC250D, BC296D, BC785D, BC796D):
Hi – Set LCD Display backlight to high.
Dim – Set LCD Display backlight to dim.
o Lite On Section (BC250D, BC296D, BC785D, BC796D):
15S – Set LCD Display backlight on period to 15 seconds.
Inf – Set LCD Display backlight ton period to infinity.
o Set Lite Section (BC780XLT):
Hi – Set LCD Display backlight to high.
I-CALL OFF I-CALL ON I-CALL ONLY
